Blog & FAQs

What do I do if I’m considering enrolling my child with Step One Academy?

It’s best to first consider if you need to apply for a subsidy program or if you are paying for child care out of pocket. Afterward, give us a call to check for availability and any other necessary information.

What is a subsidy program?

New Jersey Cares for Kids (NJCK) program helps income-eligible parents who are working or in school meet the cost of child care. Find out how to apply here, depending on your current county.

What COVID-19 precautions does Step One Academy take?

We value safety and cleanliness when it comes to our staff and children. Everyone is temperature checked and screened before entering into the childcare center. Sanitizer is provided at multiple points within the center. Everyone, including children, wash their hands immediately after entering the building. We have also added the Vollara Active Pure Air Purifier that has been FDA approved to kill 99.99% of all airborne and surface bacteria, including COVID-19. Our staff clean, sanitize, and disinfect at least 3 times a day as well.

What are your hours of operations?

We are open from 6:00am – 6:00pm.

What food do you provide?

We participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program and provide breakfast, lunch and snack. Our food vendor provides delicious and nutritious meals every day.

What ages do you serve?

We serve ages 0-13.

Do you have before and after care?

Yes we do. Give us a call and we’d be happy to give you details.
